Ok, am now back from work and have a bit more time to post the cards and a bit of a discussion. As I wrote earlier today, stamping was on the agenda this weekend, and after two days of cutting, coloring and compiling this is the result:
Remember the link to the
Swiss Pixies from CC Designs from last week? Yes, I ordered the set, and wow, they are GREAT stamps! I am having so much fun coloring these images and making cards with them. For the card above I used Copic markers as well as the TriArt markers (which so far I am loving). And of course I had to add lots and lots of glitter and stickles (my favorites are icicle and diamond).
Also used the Slice to make the flourishes (and I added some mica powder to the flourishes and then embossed with clear powder). So far my Slice is working GREAT again! Which is making me very, very happy.
Another CC Design Swiss Pixie, not from the set I just ordered, and this one is colored with distress ink, yes I still love the distress ink. Also, the close up of the flower with the pearl? That "pearl" is the pearl pen I told
you about a few weeks ago, and yes it is amazing stuff, easy to use and gives you wonderful results.
The flowers are a combination of the roses (Prima maybe?) and then some from the dollar store. I buy bunches of the white silk flowers, pull the flowers off the stems then color them to use with my projects. These flowers were colored on the edges with the distress ink, easy to do and gives a very nice effect. I also painted some
inspiration paint, fairy dust, on the flowers for a bit more bling.
This last card was made with a stamp by Elizabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Desgin. The stamp is called "
New Friends," adorable stamp and GREAT fun to color. I used Copic and TriArt markers to color the images, the birdhouse is from the CC Design set I linked to above.
So, the upshot is that it takes me forever to make cards! I fret and fret about color, embellishments and design and by the time I get everything together, hours have gone by. Does that happen to you? Now, I know that cards can be made quickly, for some reason making them quickly is just not my style right now.
Don't get me wrong, simple, quick and easy works for me too. I just happen to be in a mode where I love to add things to the card, which ends up taking more time.
So, when you work on cards are you quick? Do you know exactly what you want to do before you get started? Do you pick the paper first, then the stamp? Do you like taking your time when making a card?
Anyhow, that is the rest of my post for today, hope you like the posts today, and of course I have many more links for you next week. Until then happy stamping everyone.
Jacquie, Your cards are beautiful! I'm really surprised you don't make more of them! The coloring you did is stunning! Thanks so much for sharing!

Jacquie, you're fast compared to me! Even for simple cards I can spend hours comparing different coloured card & embellishments. I start with an idea in mind...and change it several times in the making. The finished card may have nothing in common with my original idea.
ReplyDeleteJacquie your work is so amazing! I am in awe over the gorgeous creations that you make! Stunning stunning stunning!!!!! Your coloring is so beautiful!!!
