Father's Day Cards and some neat links

Just got finished with my Dad's Father's Day card, and of course I still have three or four more to do (any bets on when they get done?). Here is a picture of the front of the card (the picture is too yellowed, not sure why my camera was so off) (Update 6/11, couldn't stand the yellowed version, just retook the photo and am happier with the way it turned out : ) Now you can see the colors):

And here is the inside:

I did not have a stamp that said "Happy Father's Day" so I went online to find some sentiments to use instead. I found the poem in the card, printed it in brown on colored paper and it worked GREAT! Will handwrite the Happy Father's Day part when I get the card ready to mail.

Had fun water coloring the image, it is a stamp I have had forever and hardly used, now I want to use it all the time! The highlights were done with a white gel pen (on the rocks and the water to give it a foamy look). The card stock is really nice, deep, rich colors, they don't show up well in this picture.

Here are some links to sayings/poems for Father's Day cards:

  • Father Poems: Cute site with lots of poems you can print out for Father's Day.
  • Ink Stains: Lots and lots of sayings, phrases and other writings for Father's Day.
  • Father's Day Poems: Scroll down after you see the first one for some neat poems, this is where I found the poem for my Dad's card.
Also, someone asked me to post a picture of the card featured in the video for water coloring with ink pads, here it is:

Ever wonder why I named my blog "After Hours Stamper?" Because there never seems to be enough time to stamp on the "normal" hours, like tonight : ) I guess better late then never, right?

Hope you have a great day and an even better tomorrow.

  2. The image is from Stamps Happen, Inc, called LightHouse #80158

I really enjoy working with the image, it just takes forever to color it in though : )
